What does “4-in-1” mean?
The UPBed Standard provides four powered positions in one product: a flat bed for sleeping, a sit-up bed for reading or watching television, a chair position for upright relaxation, and a lift position that assists with the transition toward standing.
Is the UPBed Standard a hospital bed?
No. The UPBed Standard is designed for everyday home use as a wellness and independence product. It has a modern residential appearance and includes a memory-foam mattress and padded bed rails.
Is the UPBed Standard FDA cleared?
Yes. Journey Health & Lifestyle identifies the UPBed Standard as FDA cleared. It is intended to support comfort, positioning, and independence in the home, but it is not a substitute for professional medical advice or an individualized mobility assessment.
How does the lift-to-stand function work?
The motorized forward-lift mechanism raises and tilts the bed surface, bringing the user closer to an upright position. The padded side arms provide convenient hand support during the transition.
Can I use the UPBed without assistance?
The UPBed is designed to support greater independence when getting into and out of bed. However, individual strength, balance, mobility, and judgment vary. Some users may still require assistance. Always follow the safety instructions in the owner’s manual.
What is the weight capacity?
The UPBed Standard has a maximum weight capacity of 600 pounds and is intended for one occupant at a time.
What sizes are available?
The UPBed Standard is available in Twin and Twin XL. The Twin measures 75 inches long by 38 inches wide by 23 inches high. The Twin XL measures 80 inches long by 38 inches wide by 23 inches high.
What is the difference between Twin and Twin XL?
Both sizes offer the same functions, controls, mattress thickness, and weight capacity. The Twin XL is five inches longer and may be more comfortable for taller users or anyone who prefers additional legroom.
What is included with the UPBed?
The complete package includes the motorized frame, a six-inch memory-foam mattress with a breathable cover, two deluxe padded and removable bed rails, four bed legs, a six-button wired remote, and the power adapter.
Pillows, sheets, decorative bedding, and backup batteries are not included unless otherwise stated in the order.
Will regular sheets fit?
Yes. The Twin model uses standard Twin bedding, and the Twin XL model uses standard Twin XL bedding. Fitted sheets with secure elastic corners are recommended because the mattress changes position with the bed.
What happens during a power outage?
The power adapter can accommodate two 9-volt batteries as an emergency backup. This allows the bed to be returned to its flat position during a power interruption. The batteries may need to be purchased separately and are intended only for emergency operation.
How is the bed controlled?
The included wired remote has six buttons for controlling the head, foot, lift, and flat functions. The remote remains attached to the bed, helping keep it close at hand.
Does the UPBed require assembly?
The bed requires setup and placement. Required white-glove delivery includes bringing the bed into the home, unpacking it, placing it in the selected location, and removing the discarded packaging materials.
How long does delivery take?
Please allow approximately three to four weeks for white-glove delivery. The delivery company will contact you in advance to arrange an appointment. Delivery is available within the contiguous United States only.
What should I do if the bed arrives damaged?
Inspect the bed and packaging at the time of delivery. If damage is visible, note it on the delivery paperwork before signing and take clear photographs of the product, packaging, shipping label, and damage.
You must notify us within two days of delivery if damage is noted upon delivery. Keep all packaging materials and contact us before refusing delivery, returning the product, or arranging repairs.
Can the UPBed be returned?
Because the UPBed includes a mattress and is classified as a bedding product, it cannot be returned for preference, sizing, or hygiene-related reasons. Products that arrive damaged, incomplete, or defective will be handled according to the applicable shipping, damage, and warranty policies.
Is the UPBed eligible for FSA or HSA reimbursement?
The purchase may qualify for reimbursement, depending on your plan and its documentation requirements. Contact your FSA or HSA administrator before purchasing. We cannot guarantee eligibility or reimbursement and do not diagnose, prescribe, or process insurance claims.
