Made with a rust-resistant aluminum frame, the SoftSecure supports up to 300 pounds and weighs just 20 pounds. The water-resistant foam padding includes built-in Microban® protection to help resist the growth of odor- and stain-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew on the treated surfaces between regular cleanings. A removable commode bucket is included, and assembly and height adjustments require no tools.

Will the SoftSecure fit over my existing toilet?
The SoftSecure is designed to fit over most standard round and elongated toilets. Its adjustable legs allow you to raise or lower the chair to clear the toilet rim. If you have a taller comfort-height toilet, we recommend measuring before ordering to make sure there is adequate clearance.
Can I actually use this chair in the shower?
Yes. The rust-resistant aluminum frame and water-resistant foam padding make the SoftSecure suitable for shower use. Remove the commode bucket and splash guard before placing it in the shower. Make sure all four rubber feet rest securely on a level surface. After showering, wipe the seat dry and allow the frame to air out.
What does Microban® protection actually do?
Microban is incorporated into the foam seat and backrest during manufacturing. It helps resist the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew that can cause odors and stains on the treated surfaces. Unlike a cleaning product, the protection remains part of the foam between cleanings.
Does Microban protect me from germs or infections?
No. Microban antimicrobial technology protects the treated product surfaces, not the person using the chair. It does not protect users from disease-causing pathogens. Regular cleaning and appropriate disinfecting are still necessary.
Is the padded seat easy to clean?
Yes. The closed-cell foam does not absorb water and can be wiped clean after use. Follow the manufacturer's cleaning instructions, particularly when using disinfectants, to protect the padded surfaces.
How much does the chair weigh?
The SoftSecure weighs approximately 20 pounds and supports users up to 300 pounds. Its aluminum construction makes it relatively lightweight for a sturdy commode chair, although anyone with limited lifting ability may need assistance moving it.
Does it require tools to assemble or adjust?
No. The chair is designed for tool-free assembly. The seat, backrest, and accessories attach without special tools, and the legs use push-button locking pins for height adjustment. Always check that all components are securely locked before use.
Can I use it as a bedside commode without a regular toilet?
Absolutely. The included removable commode bucket allows the SoftSecure to function independently beside a bed or wherever bathroom access is inconvenient. The bucket can be removed for emptying and cleaning.
Can I use my FSA or HSA funds to purchase this chair?
Journey identifies the SoftSecure as FSA/HSA eligible. However, reimbursement and eligible payment methods depend on your particular plan. We recommend checking with your plan administrator before purchasing. We do not submit Medicare or private insurance claims.
Can I return the chair if it doesn't fit my bathroom?
For sanitary reasons, bathroom and toilet products are non-returnable unless they arrive damaged or defective. Please measure your bathroom and existing toilet carefully before ordering. If you're uncertain about the fit, contact us before purchasing. We're happy to help you review the dimensions.
What warranty comes with the SoftSecure?
Journey provides a 12-month manufacturer's warranty covering defects in the chair's frame, materials, workmanship, and assembly. Non-durable parts, such as rubber tips, are not covered.
